Lake Muhazi

Last week we drove a couple of hours east of Kigali to a lake. We saw hundreds of people walking or cycling miles carrying water, big bunches of bananas, corrugated iron, chairs and tables, and babies on their backs. We were stopped once by the police for 'overspeeding', though we weren't, and we passed a couple of accidents when cars had ended up in the roadside ditch.

The lake was beautiful and it was good to see a bit of Rwandan countryside.
