On Tuesday Giles went off to his conference again and we went for a cooked breakfast overlooking the harbour. We then got the ferry across to Robben Island (where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned) which was an hour's journey with amazing views of Cape Town, Table Mountain and Lion's Head, and only a bit of seasickness.
The prison itself was very interesting. We were shown around by quite a scary ex-prisoner and we were able to see Nelson Mandela's cell, the quarry where Mandela had to work and the prison yard and dormitory.
